On local time May 8, Unit GT11 of both the Qasim EPC Project and the Taibah EPC Project undertaken by SEPCOIII in Saudi Arabia were successfully connected to the power grid for power generation. This marks the first grid‑connected power generation of the 7HA.03 gas turbine, the latest representative of international gas turbine technology, in the Middle East. It also signifies a leap‑forward improvement in the Company’s delivery capacity in Saudi Arabia’s high‑end power market, presenting an outstanding achievement for Chinese enterprises in the energy sector of the Middle East.

Located in central Saudi Arabia, the Qasim EPC Project involves the construction of a new 1,800‑MW combined‑cycle power plant equipped with H‑class gas turbines, configured as one three‑on‑one combined‑cycle unit plus one single‑cycle gas turbine unit. Designed with high efficiency and environmental protection as core principles, the project will further meet safety requirements of Saudi Arabia’s power system and ensure reliable power supply.

Situated in western Saudi Arabia, the Taibah EPC Project is another new 1,800‑MW combined‑cycle power plant adopting H‑class gas turbines with the same configuration of one three‑on‑one combined‑cycle unit plus one single‑cycle gas turbine unit. Upon completion, it will provide sufficient power guarantee for Medina and surrounding areas, accelerating the achievement of Saudi Arabia’s energy transition goals.
