Recently, the Saudi Qassim EPC Project and Saudi Taiba EPC Project undertaken by SEPCOIII have achieved major construction milestones. All eight gas turbine units have been put into full-load operation, marking that the projects have entered a brand-new construction phase. Located in central Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Qasim EPC Project is a newly-built combined-cycle power plant with an installed capacity of 1,800 megawatts. It is equipped with H-class gas turbines, adopting a configuration of one set of three gas turbines driving one steam turbine in combined cycle plus one standalone gas turbine in simple cycle. Designed with high efficiency and environmental protection as core concepts, the project will further enhance the safety of Saudi Arabia’s power grid and guarantee reliable power supply. Situated in western Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Taibah EPC Project is also a newly-built combined-cycle power plant with an installed capacity of 1,800 megawatts and H-class gas turbines, featuring the same configuration: one set of three gas turbines driving one steam turbine in combined cycle plus one standalone gas turbine in simple cycle. Upon completion, the project will deliver ample power supply to Al Madinah and surrounding areas, and accelerate the delivery of Saudi Arabia’s energy transition goals.
