On May 18 local time, the owner of the Rabigh Phase 4 Seawater Desalination EPC Project undertaken by SEPCOIII officially issued the Project Take‑Over Certificate (PTOC), marking the project’s official entry into the warranty period and the successful completion of another major milestone.

Located in Rabigh on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, adjacent to the Rabigh Phase 3 Seawater Desalination Project, the facility has a daily freshwater production capacity of 600,000 cubic meters. Upon completion, it will supply basic domestic water for more than 3 million households in major Saudi cities. Following reliable operation tests, the project set a record for the shortest construction period among similar units. Meanwhile, its measured power consumption per cubic meter of freshwater stands at 2.712 kWh/m³ (excluding photovoltaic power), hitting a new global low for seawater desalination projects.
