Recently, SEPCOIII achieved a significant milestone as the No.1 unit of the Guangzhou Zengcheng Wanglong EPC Project successfully completed its first grid connection at one attempt. All performance parameters were excellent, and all supporting systems operated steadily, marking another major progress in the project’s construction.

Located in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou, the Wanglong project is a replacement initiative for the original Wanglong Thermal Power Plant’s coal-fired units. On the same site, two 460MW-class gas-steam combined cycle peak-shaving units are being constructed, utilizing clean natural gas as fuel and incorporating internationally advanced energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies. Upon completion, the project is expected to generate approximately 3 billion kWh of electricity annually.

To ensure the successful grid connection of the No.1 unit, the project team conducted proactive planning and scientific coordination, thoroughly checking all prerequisites and meticulously optimizing the grid connection plan. During the commissioning phase, professionals and construction teams operated on 24/7 shifts, dynamically monitoring equipment performance parameters. Throughout the grid connection process, the unit maintained stable operation, with all parameters performing within normal ranges, ensuring safety and orderly progress. This successful grid connection signifies that the unit has officially entered the phase of load testing under electrical conditions.
