On April 6, a celebration ceremony was held for the successful completion of the ECOD1 Performance Test of the Hassyan Seawater Desalination EPC Project in the UAE, undertaken by SEPCOIII. Mohammad Abunayyan, Chairman of the owner ACWA Power, attended the event and delivered a speech.

As the company’s second large-scale seawater desalination project contracted in the UAE, the project has a daily water production capacity of 180 MIGD (approximately 818,000 cubic meters). Upon completion, it will help meet the future residential water demand of Dubai, serving as a critical livelihood and political project for the local region. During the test, the entire plant achieved stable automatic operation at a 60 MIGD load, with all produced water meeting quality standards continuously for 24 hours and all performance parameters delivering excellent results. The successful completion of the ECOD1 Performance Test has fully verified the project’s water production capacity, operational efficiency and equipment reliability under ECOD1 operating conditions.
