On June 10 local time, Saudi Arabia Al-Ghat 600MW Wind Power EPC Project marked a major milestone: all 80 wind turbines across the site were successfully connected to the grid, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent 168-hour full-load reliability test run. Adopting domestically manufactured 7.7MW wind turbine generators (WTGs), this project features the largest single-unit capacity among all wind farms in Saudi Arabia to date. Upon full commissioning, it will deliver clean, stable power to hundreds of thousands of local residents and reduce reliance on long-distance power transmission. The project will cut carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1 million tons each year, equivalent to planting nearly 50 million trees. After completing the hoisting of all 80 wind turbines on June 2, the project team forged ahead with united efforts and completed electrical installation, commissioning, grid connection preparation and other works to stringent quality standards. The team fulfilled the target of full-site grid connection in merely 8 days.
