On June 12 local time, SEPCOIII successfully signed the EPC contract for the Oman Duqm 890MW Power Project. The contract signing marks another major breakthrough for the Company in Oman’s high-end power generation market and further strengthens its competitive position in the Middle East energy and power sector.

The project will be equipped with world-leading Siemens 4000F gas turbine units and will have a net generating capacity of approximately 876MW. As one of the key combined-cycle gas-fired power projects promoted by the Government of Oman, the Duqm Power Plant is intended to gradually replace conventional oil-fired generation facilities and provide critical grid-balancing and peaking support as renewable energy projects are integrated into the national power system. The project will play an important role in enhancing grid stability and reliability while meeting the region’s growing electricity demand.

Located within the Duqm Special Economic Zone, the project is situated in one of Oman’s most strategically important industrial and logistics hubs. As the area continues to experience rapid industrial development, demand for reliable power infrastructure is increasing significantly. Upon completion, the project will substantially strengthen regional power supply capacity and provide strong support for local industrial development and economic growth, carrying significant economic and social value.

The signing of this contract represents another important achievement in SEPCOIII’s continued expansion in the Middle East’s high-end power market. Going forward, the Company will leverage its extensive experience and proven execution capabilities in large-scale gas-fired power projects to deliver the project to the highest standards, contributing to Oman’s energy transition, power supply security, and sustainable economic development, while supporting the high-quality implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
