On November 12, the GE 7HA.03 gas turbine was successfully lifted and positioned at the Saudi PP12 Expansion Combined Cycle Power Plant Project. The precise operation by the project team marks a major milestone in the project’s construction and lays a solid foundation for subsequent equipment installation.

The gas turbine, supplied by General Electric (GE), is one of the most efficient and flexible heavy-duty gas turbines in the world. With a total weight of 296 tons and dimensions of 11557×3556×4090 mm, it has a single-cycle net output of approximately 430 MW and a combined cycle efficiency exceeding 64%. It also offers advantages such as fast start-stop capability, fuel flexibility, and high reliability.

The lifting operation was carried out using the American ENERPAC SBL-1100 hydraulic gantry system, which features high load capacity and precise synchronous control, ensuring the stable placement of the large equipment within the limited workspace. The project team developed a detailed plan in advance, strictly adhered to GE’s technical requirements, and completed preparatory work such as equipment inspection and lifting simulation. During the operation, multiple parties collaborated closely and followed the plan rigorously, achieving millimeter-level precision in positioning.

Taking this milestone as an opportunity, the project team will continue to adhere to the working principles of "high standards, strictness, thoroughness, and practicality," and proceed systematically with the installation of the generator, waste heat boiler, and auxiliary systems. All efforts will be made to ensure the high-quality and timely commissioning of the project.
