At 9:16 am. on September 30, the first hoisting ceremony for the steel structure of Boiler No. 3 at the Three Gorges Mengneng Dongsheng (Selian) Project was held on-site. Representatives from the project owner, supervision unit, consortium partner Northwest Electric Power Design Institute, as well as the project management team and all staff, jointly witnessed this key milestone. Prior to hoisting, the project department, together with the owner and supervision unit, conducted strict inspections and provided guidance on the hoisting plan, equipment, and personnel qualifications, laying a solid foundation for smooth construction. For this first hoisting, a 130t truck crane was used under the working condition of a 29.1m main boom, lifting the K6B2.8 column (weighing 22.126t). The operating radius was 12m (with a rated lifting capacity of 60.6t), and the actual load (including scaffolding and wire ropes) was 24.126t, resulting in a load rate of 39.88%. The hoisting process was safe, stable and orderly, and was completed 69 days ahead of the contractual milestone of December 8, winning high praise from leaders of the owner and supervision department.
